"How to Build a Dipole" CLASS

The ULLWA's ARES team is offering a class on how to build a simple dipole. All hams are welcome and you do not have to be an ARES member to attend.

The class will be held starting at 9AM on Saturday, September 9th and it will be held at the Scenic Loop Fire Department located at 1406 FM3277, Livingston, 77351

WE NEED A COUNT ON NUMBER OF ATTENDEES... PLEASE RSVP TODAY: ULLWA.TX@GMAIL.COM

The instructors will be:

Dr. Dennis Teal - AA5DT

James "Red" Walker - KA5TBL

While there is NO CHARGE for the class itself, you will need to bring some materials with you (depending on what band or bands you are building the dipole for);

For example, if you are building one for a 40 meter frequency, you will need ~65 feet of #10 or #12 AWG solid or stranded wire, some paracord and a center insulator of the type that has a coax connector, or 1:1

Transformer Balum - you will also need to bring about 50' of coax with PL-259's at each end.

If you have a soldering iron... bring it along with non-lead solder.

The instructors will have an Antenna Analyzer on hand to check your build!
